A 'seamless' rabbit joint IS possible, but probably the most difficulty. You must make two cuts, and strip the first card layer and foam piece the width of the thickness of the card and foam. This also allows you to fold the card at either end of the cut, and has been useful when I may have needed a fudge factor in the final assembly.

Note, I've had little problem with the foam lifting cleanly from the left behind card.

Remember too, that joints, though I'd suggest miters, can be other than 90 degrees, and that foam core can dull blades VERY fast, crushing rather than cutting neat edges needed. Keep spares handy, and change often.
